Amigo Challenge

The Amigo project has developed an open-source software layer enabling the creation of intelligent networked home environments. The developed software is free and can be easily extended to fit new ideas. Now it's time to handover the software to the community and call on them to continue the development and make it a success story. This is the point where you and your team come in. Take our software, explore and deploy it and ‘Create your World’. The best ideas will be rewarded. The Amigo Challenge is divided into three categories. The categories are: Hardware Link your favorite hardware to the Amigo software layer, integrate it and let it interact with the intelligent networked home environment. Software Create a new intelligent service or application using the Amigo software layer. Free Style Your idea doesn't fit into the above categories? No problem. The Free Style-category is open for all ideas. Here you have the chance to surprise the community with a „go-crazy“ approach. Use the Amigo software layer for a completely different task and show us what we have never ever thought about. The Amigo Challenge closes at January 31st, 2008 Visit the Amigo Challenge website at http://challenge.amigo-project.org for more details. A jury of international experts will judge the submitted ideas and reward the best ones in each category with the following prizes:
  1. Prize: 750 Euro
  2. Prize: 500 Euro
  3. Prize: 250 Euro
In addition, the winning teams will be invited to attend the Amigo Open Day on February 28, 2008 at Philips Research at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Create your World!
